of the Italian Association for Cognitive Sciences

Organized by:

The 6th Annual Conference of the Italian Association for Cognitive
Sciences is the meeting place for Italian cognitive scientists, coming
from various disciplines, who present original studies and researches
on natural (human beings and animals) and artificial (computers,
robots, computer networks, etc.) cognitive systems.
This year’s conference is organized within the scientific event
"FuturoRemoto" (http://www.futuroremoto.it/) and shares an afternoon
of joint work with WIVACE09 (Italian Workshop of Artificial Life and
Evolutionary Computation - www.wivace09.unina.it) which will be held
in Naples from the 23rd to the 25th of November 2009.
In honour of the bicentenary of Charles Darwin’s birth, the organizing
committees of the two events share the intention of inviting key
speakers to thoroughly analyse the impact of Darwinism in scientific
"non-biological" branches. Each day there will be a plenary talk on
such topics as "Darwinism and technology", "Darwinism and cultural
evolution", and so forth. The complete program will be published
online by September 10th.
The AISC09 Organization Committee invites submissions of papers on a
variety of Cognitive Science topics intended for an interdisciplinary
audience (i.e. excluding excessively technical works or studies
limited to particular disciplines or methodologies). Among the topics
of interest for the Conference are:
Cognitive and Neurocognitive Models; Motivational and Emotive Aspects
of Behaviour; Psychopathology; Agent-based Simulations; Biologically
Plausible Computational Models; Social Cognitive Theory; Economy and
Cognitive Science; Natural/Artificial Systems; Computation and
Cognitive Science; Cognitive Science Epistemology; Philosophy of Mind;
Applications of Cognitive Science; Cognitive Technologies; Reasoning;
Cognitive Linguistics and Psycholinguistics; Linguistic, Social and
Cultural Anthropology; Distributed Cognition.
Papers must be written in Italian and submitted using the Easychair
system
(http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=aisc09). The length of
each paper must be between 7000 and 12000 characters (including
spaces). The template and detailed instructions are available on the
Conference website (www.aisc09.unina.it). The Programme Committee will
select the accepted papers and will choose the form of presentation
(oral or poster).
In order to make blind reviewing possible, authors must omit their
names and affiliations from the paper. When referring to one's own
work, use the third person rather than the first person. For example,
say "Previously, X and Y (2007) have shown that...", rather than "In
our previous work (2007) we have shown that...”
For accepted papers, such identifying information can be added to the
final camera-ready version for publication.
All the accepted papers will be gathered in the Conference
Proceedings, published by the University of Naples "Federico
II" (www.fridericiana.it). The print version of the proceedings will
be distributed during the Conference to registered participants. The e-
book version will be freely downloadable from the websites of the
Conference (www.aisc09.unina.it), of the Publisher
(www.fridericiana.it) and of the Italian Association for Cognitive
Sciences (www.aisc-net.it).
