I want a Lazarus Long movie. Hell, for that matter, I want to see all of
Heinlein's Future History filmed, from "Life-Line" right on up through _To
Sail Beyond the Sunset_.

Ewan Macgregor as Lazarus. Monica Potter as Mama Maureen.

Shouldn't you get a red-head to play Maureen?

No sweat. We'll dye her.

Insufficiently rugged.

I think you have something there.

John Wayne would have been about right if he'd had a bigger nose and
red hair. His speech pattern would have to change somewhat.

I don't see Burt Lancaster or John Wayne walking into a room wearing a kilt
with everyone else *not* laughing, though. I can *kinda* see Macgregor pulling
that off. Furthermore, I think Macgregor did about as well as older Obi-wan
as any thesp could possibly be expected to manage, especially considering the
poor quality of the material and that he had a director who doesn't really
bother with the actors. As such I think he'd have a fighting chance as
Lazarus the fighter, Lazarus the thousand-plus year old man, "Ted Bronson",
et al.

Hm. You may have something there.

Uh... no.

Would either of you guys actually pay $10 to see two stacked cross-sex
clones of David Caruso on a giant screen?

It would be clear that the change of sex made the features more
appealing; they'd choose some Well Built Actress and just modify her
coloring a bit.

Plus, she'd be younger. Caruso as a young person wasn't all that
unsightly. Hence: Alicia Witt, clearly. Well, possibly Julianne Moore,
but she seems somehow indefinably less caruso-sibling-like, to my eye.

Well, I'm probably remembering all of them younger than they are now.

See also, Hudson Hawk, in which Caruso had a scene in drag.
And no, not too many people paid ten dollars to see it.
Eh, no accounting for taste.
