Bill was sitting happily in his favourite chair when his wife hit him
with the frying pan. "what's that for?" screamed Bill, clutching his
head. " I've just taken your jacket to the cleaners, said his beloved; I
went through the pockets and my worst fears were confirmed: a secret
lover" " A what?" roared Bill? His wife kept going, "I found this piece
of paper in your pocket, Mary-Jo, 3.30pm Wednesday. "Oh that' said Bill,
thinking on his feet, "Darling, he said, darling, that was a tip for
the 3.30 at Mooney Ponds!"
Darling seemed happy with the explanation. A few days later Bill was
sitting in his favourite chair when beloved hit him over the head with
the frying pan. "What's that for?" screamed Bill, holding his head.
Darling, her eyes blazing, said "Your horse phoned!"
