I just read an article about a man being arrested for molesting a 13
year old boy at TL! According to the article this is the 5th arrest
in the last couple of weeks at TL, Sea World Aquatica and Wet and
Wild.
What is wrong with the world?? This is horrible, I know bad things
happen even in my happy place, but I depend on happy news from
Orlando, this, the monorail accident and the bus crash is just too
much!

There's a LOT wrong with the world, but there's also alot good with
the world. There are a disturbing number of perverts & scumbags, but
a greater number of decent people. I understand what you're saying
about the happy place thing, but if nothing else these situations are
a helpful reminder to the parents who DO give a shit about their kids
to not assume common sense isn't needed while vacationing there. With
55,000 cast members, you can be sure there are child molesters, spouse
beaters, drug users, etc among them as well as among the guests.
That's the sad reality - I don't let it bother me, since I can't
control/change it. There's too much good out there for me to focus on
- especially when I'm at WDW!

Of course given the growing rate of obesity in America, it might
actually fit on a T-shirt ;-)
But seriously, I have to agree, too. I always try to focus on the good,
but doing so doesn't mean I wear rose-colored glasses and ignore dangers.

It wasn't a cast member! Both quotes below are from various pages of
www.orlandosentinel.com
July 11, 2009 incident from paper July 13th "Bradford Pellet Biggers, 51, of
Connecticut, faces charges of lewd and lascivious exhibition..."
OR
July 6, 2009 incident, "A New York man faces a molestation charge after
investigators accused him of pulling the bikini top..."
Your choice but neither were employed by Disney, they were paying guests. |

Here here! It absolutely stinks that it happened there but it serves as a
good reminder to watch your kids! I've seen too many folks who toddle off
while their toddler is left behind. I'm glad they caught the sicko.

There was a report on TV that nothing has changed with the world it's just as it
always has been - but with the media and the access we have now, we are just
hearing more about it. |

Couldn't agree more. Here are just a few special things. $5.25 for an
aluminum can of Budweiser. $11 for a hamburger. Nescafe instant coffee for
$3. $20 for a steak I wouldn't give my dog at Big River Grill & Brewing
Works. Ok, maybe the dog might like it. When I order steak, I'm not looking
for jaw exercises. Besides, the dump was full of flies.
I think the biggest rip-off is the wine and food festival. |

Oh come on! It makes money for the shareholders, thats all that matters
right?
Consider it a test of how long you can stand the slezoid and wino event :)
A marathon of how to get through the crowds of farting, sweating and
obnoxious who just have to stand in the middle and block everyone else -
creating roadblocks of similar cretins. If you are in a ecv, heaven help
you, for the drunks obviously care less than anything except possibly wheres
the next booze coming from.

The last time we did the Food & Wine Festival was 2005. We were at American
Gardens Theater, there were 3 people sitting behind us, all drunk, but one
old lady especially. Drunk on wine. My wife thought she might be a
projectile vomiter so we left the show. Security carried her to a wheelchair
and she sat there with her head between her knees vomiting. I looked at my
wife and said "magical". What would Walt say? At Disney prices, I bet that
bellyache cost them a fortune.

Keane,
Makes a commercial I saw this morning pop into my head ---
Guy is complaining that he's tired of everyone looking at his baldness
before they look at "him" (Hair Club commercial, maybe)
Well heck! My responses
1) guys often / usually look at a female's attributes before look at
"her" (behavior may be age correlated)
2) most humans look at other humans for distinguishing physical
characteristics before they begin categorizing or delving into non-
physical characteristics -- for criminey's sake -- it's basic human
behavior
