HAhahaha...

This was supposed to be posted last week, and I was going to post
it after the upload of the new pages was complete. Of course, then
I failed to remember to hit the darned 'Send' button.

Sheesh. Was memory the first or second thing to go? I can't
remember.

Hi Everyone!

New update. Two steps forward, a half step back. I don't
considerate a big deal unless you don't like getting a needle
stuck into your spinal column... Oh wait. I'm one of those who
don't like needles being stuck into my spinal column. Well, at
least I can't see what's going on back there when he does it.

Keane, seems you have been busy the last couple weeks.
I think the photos PiC took is fetching. You look kinda like
Johnny Depp with the hat on. Seriously. I would not be
looking forward to spinal taps either. Cactus photos are
lovely too. The bloom looks like a spring onion that was put in water
and bloomed. Very pretty.

You look decidedly unhappy attached to your I.V. But I guess you have to
make the most of a difficult situation. It's great that you're keeping your
sense of humour throughout the whole ordeal! Continued prayers and
positive thoughts coming your way!

Do you have to have radiation? My BIL does. Apparently his throat will be
quite sore for a few months after it but they figure it's necessary to make
sure he's got the best chance to fight this.

I was thinking he looks more like Chevy Chase. :-)

Seriously, though, it sounds like good news that you are at the end of
your chemo treatments. I think I could handle the occasional spinal tap
and one-hour rest much better than three hours of IV and then the
nausea. I'm glad things are getting better for you!

Actually, it shouldn't be in the update at all, but considering
a plant would want to reproduce under the circumspect's of
*my* care... ;-)

Define "better". :-)

Over the past couple of weeks I've been spring cleaning (since
I really didn't have a spring), reorganizing paper and electronic
data, and trying to get about a dozen projects done. I spent
several hours over the weekend weeding and doing yardwork.
Yep, those frickin' weeds are still being a pain in my...

(But you're right, life without chemo that takes you down every
third week *is* better! I was getting seriously depressed before my
5th and 6th sessions.)

I could certainly use a few days away from here though. I wonder if I
could get a room at WDW for a few days the week after next. A few
days on the road sounds soooo good right about now. Hell, I'd even
stay at an all-star resort and drink nesca...nesc...the in-house
so-called coffee...

Do I sound desparate?

That's it! I want to be the 8th dwarf, Unhappy!

(And I have no sense of humor. Sarcasm just dribbles from me unbidden
and sometimes unchecked, and many mistake it for a sense of humor...)

No radiation to fight the cancer, but I had to take a heart scan (I
understand the chemo therapy I was on can do a nasty on the heart)
and had to carry a card for the day saying I was radioactive.

This morning I had a PET scan where they injected a dose of
radioactive glucose in me. It came in this heavy lead container,
which once again, was to protect the nurse. The stuff inside
the container was going to be injected into me. Hmmm....
(You then sit still for 25 minutes and the PET scan is almost
peaceful. I may have fallen asleep during the last few minutes
of the test.)

However, just the thought of someone being able to pick me out with a
Geiger counter...

(And I can't remember the count of x-rays, CT scans and other
diagnostics which bombarded me with radiation during the past
17 weeks or so...)

Thanks for the thoughts Michelle, and same to your brother. (I have
a lot more sympathy for cancer patients than I *ever* did before all
this began... Smile)

I've had 2 of those. A little disconserting when you see the syringe
surrounded by lead bricks.

For some reason, I had the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey going through my
head when I read this!

Well, if you try to think that everything happens for a reason, maybe that
was the reason for you having it. It's hard to look at the positives in
all this but that might be one.

I say go to the world and stay at pop century and suck down the blue raz
icee slushies. you deserve it (bring real coffee and coffee maker for your
room)

So glad your 'e getting thru the chemo,, I have had my share of those pet/
ct radioactive iodine injections and accompanying scans.

glad you don't need continuing radiation, where I had to have high dose
internal radiation and got stuck in a 10 by 18 lead lined room for 5 days
till the Geiger counter didn't scream when pointed at me.

The DIZ is my escape and wife and I are counting days till our passes cut
back in again.

Keep the faith and we will see you around

Nah, I have sympathy for those who have to go through labor, too, but
I doubt I'd ever experience it... :-)

I've not attached a reason to any of this. My take on it has always
been a really, really bad roll of the dice.

Hey, I'm celebratin'. I'm staying at AKL or the Poly. Smile (And I

Gag. I'm *really* glad I didn't have to go through that. I assume
your health problems are behind you?

Ah, maybe if I can make the December meet, I should organize a RADP/

else could we have it?)

We took DS to the ER several years ago, complaining of abdominal pain,
suspected appendicitis. They dragged a radiology tech out of bed 30 miles
away, did some digital internal photos, and I got to hang out behind her
console as she interpreted shapes. DS was later entertained by my
predictions of his future gas events, since I had seen them in-place. I've
also seen a few ultrasounds of alleged heart murmurs (with color-coded heart
valve velocity!) and blocked gall bladders (monochrome, on a device the size
of a laptop). The gall bladder was re-imaged several hours later by a
lab-grade machine, with very similar results to the 3-pound handheld unit.
Ultrasounds of DS several months before he was born were lovingly called
"fuzzograms" by the doctor. That was 12 years ago though..

Top drawer choices!
I have been a Poly fan since our first stay there 20 years ago, but
having stayed at AKL in 2007, I honestly think I'll be torn between the
two when we go to WDW again.
