.... and your point is ... ?
1400* ratings are most welcome at GE/Play65, especially if they are
willing to play much higher ratings and never win a thing (at least
not on first view).
Once in a while they will run into a lucky streak and win some, but
that money they will use to play for losing, to get their rating back
down and GE/Play65 doesnīt mind, after all, they are not cashing out
anything (on first view).
Doesnīt require them being friends of GE staff, just the opposite,
most likely they are not involved with GE at all, the trick lays
elsewhere.
These players frequently make deposits, to refund their account and
keep playing.
What most people are not aware of is, where this money comes from.
A while ago someone offered me the deal, and even though I didnīt take
it because I found the leftover risk too high, I learned there how it
works.
There are entire organisations behind this, independent from GE,
abusing the system.
They simply found the hole in the system, how one can drag money out
of GE.
These organisations are affiliates of GE, meaning, if they bring them
a new player, they receive part of all rake that player generates.
Now what they do is, they offer the player a good piece of that
affiliate money, to compensate for the rake, and if the player is good
enough to come out of his games with only a small loss, they are
actually making money.
The higher the stakes, the better, all they need is volume, come out
at 2% loss, get 3% back from the affiliate organisation gives 1% win
(just an example, I donīt know the real figures), at maximum stakes
and a lot of games, thatīs easy money, at least for the affiliate
company.
Not completely riskless for the player, in case he runs into a losing
streak, but there is nothing GE/Play65 could do about it.
From the view of GE/Play65, they are not making any money, there is no
chance they could confiscate their winnings, simply because they donīt
win directly, they never cash out anything but keep making deposits,
they donīt use robots to play, so even analysis wonīt show anything
wrong.
Now see it from the GE/Play65 point of view, having a low rated high
stakes player who never cashes out anything but makes frequent
deposits, they wonīt even check out the player, they never get
suspicious in the first place.
They simply donīt know (and have no way to find out) that this player
has a side contract with their affiliate.
Affiliate programs have been abused like this for many years, anyone
can get into it, try a Goolge search, some affiliate companies openly
offer you this deal on their website, not only for GE/Play65, but for
alomst any server there is, as long as they have an affiliate program. |

I'm not getting the math here: the players still have to pay the 5%
rake for the games played (9.8% paid by the winner, plus a 25%
increase if either player has a rating under 1620).
The only way this would work is if GE is paying the affiliate more
than they are charging in rake fees.

Thatīs what I ment by "leftover risk".
You are right, the player still has to pay the rake, depending on
stakes and difference in rating, and of course GE doesnīt pay 100% of
the rake to the affiliate.
So the player has to be better than his opponents, the only difference
is, he doesnīt have to beat the rake entirely.
Without the affiliate, a player has to beat the average of his
opponents by more than the rake%, before he makes any profit and on
top of that, IFF he can manage to win that much, once he has
accumulated some winnings, there is a good chance GE might confiscate
his winnings and accuse him of cheating.
With the affiliate money included, a player has to beat the average of
his opponents "only" by rake% MINUS affiliate%.
For one, thatīs far easier to to adchieve and for two, since the
player doesnīt accumulate winnings, GE canīt confiscate anything.
Of course that still means, the player has to come out of his maches
with only a small loss, small enough so the affiliate money can
compensate it, if the loss is too much, he still loses, thatīs the
leftover risk for the player. |
