See http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/db2/linux/validate/
My choice would probably be Ubuntu.
I have used CentOS 4, and it works fine; although IBM doesn't validate
it (hypothetically it is validated thanks to RHEL4, but...) |

I have DB2 8.1 + current fixpaks installed on Fedora Core 6. Java is
installed and works fine with type 2 and 4 connections. All control
center, etc. functions work ok too.

I have run it on CentOS 4.4 x64 and it works like a charm. These days
I am enjoying it on Solaris 10 x64 though :)

I'm running it under openSUSE 10.2 and the have only one real issue: I'm
stuck with V7.2 for most of what I've done due to an OS/2 server in the
mix. The problem with that pretty much mirror the problems discussed for
version 8.x at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/DB2-HOWTO/index.html. A HOWTO for
version 7 at http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-HOWTO/DB2-HOWTO.html will
also revealo a few minor hiccups to be found working with various distros.
The only real problem I've had with V7.2 or V8 has been in the Java-based
Control Center. The latest and greatest Java release (1.5.x) have path
and syntax issues. The solution is pretty straight forward - just
install the Java version DB2 was written for and set your paths and links
correctly for the old version when launching the Control Center. No
problems with JDBC that I have seen.
BTW, those links I mentioned have the peculiarities for several
distributions listed that apply pretty much across the board to all the
ones I've tried.
